Respondents PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take immediate action regarding the up gradation of infrastructure in all the Government Law Colleges, affiliated to 'The Tamilnadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University' in line with the 'National Law Schools' and 'School of Excellence in Law' and to provide a. Dedicated 'login id' and 'password' for every individual student to facilitate the distribution of e-text books, e-study materials, e-journals, latest law articles and latest judgments and to the students studying in the respondent No.3 University. b. Smart Class Rooms powered by the latest Information Technology.
c. Dedication institution for 'Moot court training' like 'Moot Court Association' functioning in the 'School of Excellence in Law'. d. 'Placement Cell' like the one which is functioning in the 'School of Excellence in Law'
e. Wi-fi facility inside campus.
f. Modern e-library.
g. Frequent National level and International level seminars and lectures conducted with the participation of the various legal luminaries.
h. To complete the construction of hostel buildings in Vellore, Dharmapuri, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Namakkal and Theni Government Law colleges affiliated to the respondent No.3 University, and to provide proper mess facility to the hostel students. in the Government Law colleges, affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University within the time stipulated by this Court. ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by M.M.SUNDRESH,J.] This Public Interest Litigation has been filed by the petitioner inter alia alleging that facilities that are extended to the National Law Schools, School of Excellence, will have to be extended to the other Government Law Colleges as well.
2. Learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has made a detailed representation to the respondents 3 and 4, dated 05.12.2020, giving certain suggestions.
3. Learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the aforesaid respondents fairly submitted that the suggestions made by the petitioner through the representation dated 05.12.2020 will be looked into and needful will be done.
4. Recording the said submissions, we call upon the respondents 3 and 4 to take appropriate action on the aforesaid representation
by sending the communication to the petitioner within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
