PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records of the fourth respondent pertaining to proceeding in f.vz;.ckp.ngh./gfp/Kdp/Nfh.fl;L/m.vz;.248/09 ehs; 22.08.2009 and quash the same and consequently directing the fourth respondent to give necessary permanent new power service connections to the newly constructed residential building of the petitioner in door No.2/A12, Navarathinapuram 3rd street, Madurai -9 without insisting the payment of the alleged arrears of assessment in the service No.G7 1012 payable by the seventh respondent, within the time frame fixed by this Court. ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed challenging an order passed by the Electricity Board, under which, the temporary service connection for construction of a new house to the writ petitioner was rejected. The said rejection order has been passed on the ground that, previous owner has suffered proceedings relating to energy theft and an amount of Rs.1,55,628/- is due in relation to the said offence. 2/5

2. The learned Counsel for the respondent Electricity Board submits that the erstwhile owner has compounded the said offence and paid the assessment amount in Lok Adalat and the entire amount has been settled and service connection has been effected to the premises of the writ petitioner. The same is recorded.

3. The Writ Petition stands dismissed as infructuous. No costs. 04.07.2022 Index :
