Prayer: Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 5 to rectify the mistake in the Patta No. 817 to change the name as Periyasamy son Maruthai instead of Ponusamy son of Maruthai based upon the petitioner's representations dated 20.10.2020, 01.02.2023 and 19.06.2023 with time frame fixed by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to rectify the mistake in the Patta No.817 to change the name as Periyasamy, son of Maruthai instead of Ponusamy, son of Maruthai based upon the petitioner's representations dated 20.10.2020, 01.02.2023 and 19.06.2023 with time frame fixed by this Court.

2. According to the petitioner, the subject property was purchased by the father of the petitioner and after his demise, the petitioner is in possession and enjoyment of the same. Patta in patta No.817 also stands in his name. However, it is wrongly mentioned in the patta as Ponusamy, son of Maruthai 2/6

instead of Periyasamy, son of Maruthai. With regard to the same, the petitioner made representations before the respondents. Since no action has been taken by the respondents till date, this writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, on written instructions, submits that once the petitioner produces all necessary documents to prove that the petitioner is Periyasamy, son of Maruthai, UDR rectification will be done by the respondents.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

5. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the petitioner to produce all the necessary documents to prove that the petitioner is Periyasamy, son of Maruthai, and on receipt of the same, the respondents are directed to consider the representations dated 20.10.2020, 01.02.2023 and 19.06.2023 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law for rectification of mistake in the patta, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/6
