The petitioner herein is aggrieved against the nonreimbursement of the medical expenses to the tune of Rs.60,700/- incurred by him for the treatment of amputation of left big toe. 2.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the District Empowered Committee Headed by District Collector, Kanyakumari District, is the authority to consider such a claim for medical reimbursement. 3.In my view, if the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the District Empowered Committee headed by District Collector, Kanyakumari District concerned with the further direction to the committee to consider the petitioner's representation, the ends of justice could be secured.

W.P.(MD) No.591 of 2020 4.In the light of the above observations, the District Empowered Committee headed by District Collector, Kanyakumari District, is suo motu impleaded as a party respondent. The petitioner herein is granted liberty to approach the District Empowered Committee headed by the District Collector, Kanyakumari District, seeking for medical reimbursement and on receipt of the same, the District Empowered Committee headed by the District Collector, Kanyakumari District, shall consider the petitioner's representation on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above directions, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
