ORDER

Mr.A.Muthukaruppan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for respondents. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself. 2.This writ petition is filed for issuing a writ of mandamus to direct the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 04.12.2019.

3.The petitioner states that his father executed a settlement deed in his favour and that his father was having patta. The https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD).No.610 of 2020 petitioner has also produced before this Court a computer patta showing the name of the petitioner's father as the owner of property measuring an extent of 17 ares in S.No.113/1A in Ladanendal Village, Thiruppuvanam Taluk. As per the provisions of Patta Pass Book Act, the third respondent is under a statutory obligation to modify the records in terms of registered instruments of conveyance, once the person executing the document is the owner of the property as per the revenue records.

4.Having regard to the limited scope of prayer that is sought for in the writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's representation, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction.

The third respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 04.12.2019 on merits and in accordance with law within a period of seven days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
