ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.08.2025 and consequently, issue patta in the petitioner's name in respect of the property situated in Survey No.1647/1, measuring an extent of 2158 sq.ft., situated at Keelarajakularaman Village, Vembakottai, Virudhunagar District.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the lawful owner and is in possession of the subject property. Despite the representation dated 18.08.2025, the third respondent has failed to consider the petitioner's request to issue patta. The inaction of the third respondent is arbitrary, unreasonable, and contrary to settled principles of law. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner's representation will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.

Recording the aforesaid submission, and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.08.2025, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be considered and disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The third respondent is directed to provide reasonable opportunity during such enquiry to the petitioner and any other persons who may be affected by such decision. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
