ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to rectify the incorrect survey number mentioned in Patta No.5252 and issue a new Patta with the correct Survey No.57/A1A1A, situated at Karadipatti Village, Madurai District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 18.12.2025. The petitioner also seeks a direction to the respondents to conduct a proper survey and demarcate the boundaries of the property under the corrected survey number within a time frame to be specified by this Court.
2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property in question and that he has made a representation
dated 18.12.2025 to the respondents, requesting the rectification of the mistake in the survey number and issuance of a corrected Patta. However, the respondents have failed to take action on the representation of the petitioner. The petitioner further seeks an order from this Court for the respondents to conduct a proper survey of the property and demarcate the boundaries of the property under the corrected survey number.

The learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents submits that, with regard to the correction of the mistake, the same can be examined, and the representation dated 18.12.2025 can be considered within a period of eight weeks. However, as the petitioner has not made any application for the demarcation of the boundaries of the subject property, the question of granting relief concerning the survey does not arise in the present case.
5. In the event of an application for demarcation is filed, the same shall be considered by the respondents 2 and 3 in accordance with law, following the rectification of the error, if any. The entire exercise shall be completed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
