O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to auction the Idaikkattur Tank for removal of the Prosopis Juliflora Trees to an extent of 125 Hectares.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the first and 2nd respondents submitted that the auction had already taken place and the third respondent is the successful bidder in the auction. The learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the confirmation is yet to be made due to the pendency of this writ petition. It is not necessary for this Court to go into the rival claim made by both sides and it will suffice to direct the first and second respondents to confirm the auction forthwith in favour of the

third respondent. By disposing of this writ petition, the relief sought for in this writ petition stands fulfilled. No costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
