ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to survey and demarcate the boundaries of the petitioner's house site plot in Survey No.16 and to furnish a survey report in respect thereof, situated at B.B. Kulam, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai District, based on the representation dated 23.12.2025, within such time as may be stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property in question and that a representation dated 23.12.2025 was made seeking survey and demarcation of the boundaries of the said property. Since no action has been taken by the respondents, the present writ petition has been filed.

4. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents submits that after issuing notice to the adjacent land owners, appropriate steps would be taken to survey and demarcate the land in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act, 1923.

Recording the aforesaid submission, this writ petition stands disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2025 for survey and demarcation on merits and in accordance with law. Notice shall be issued to the petitioner and the owners of adjacent lands and appropriate orders shall be passed in accordance with Sections 9 and 10 of the Tamil Nadu Survey and Boundaries Act 1923, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to state that the revenue officials may seek assistance from the concerned jurisdictional Police, if Police assistance is required while carrying out such survey. In the event of any rival claims, the same can be agitated before the competent civil court. No costs.
