Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 3 to 5 to conduct a peace committee meeting between two groups to celebrate the Pongal Festival and to maintain the peace, law and order in the village, namely, Chandiranpatti, Soth Ilayathankudi Group, Tiruppathur Taluk, Sivagangai District by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 04.01.2022 within a time limit that may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R
I hope that the writ petition has not been filed to fuel controversy. The petitioner has given a representation on 04.01.2022 seeking a peace committee meeting to be convened by the respondents. If the petitioner is not able to maintain peace by himself, no amount of persuasion can be imposed for maintenance of peace. It is an issue of voluntary subjugation on their own interest and to respect the other person's dignity and sanctity. 2.Mr.J.John Rajadurai, learned Government Advocate, takes notice on behalf of respondents 1 to 5.
3.There are a string of private respondents as R6 to R9. I leave it entirely to the discretion of the Inspector of Police, Keelasevalpatti Police Station, Sivagangai District to examine the representation and if it is possible, within the four or five days available now before the Pongal Festival, to conduct a peace committee meeting. If it is not possible, the parties may be advised so and it can be done on a later date. 4.In view of the last minute when the writ petition has been filed, I am not able to issue notice to the other respondents also. 5.With the above observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
