O R D E R
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to sanction and allow the petitioner to withdraw a sum of Rs.4,00,000/- from and out of the petitioner's own accumulation of Provident Fund contribution available to the credit of the respondent for the marriage expenses of his daughter.
2. By consent of both parties, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Conductor in the respondent Transport Corporation in the year 1997. Thereafter, he was promoted as Senior Conductor and he has been continuously working and rendering 25 years of service without any blemish. For the marriage expenses of his daughter, he has made an application dated 24.11.2022
before the respondent, requesting him to sanction a sum of Rs.4,00,000/- from his Provident Fund Account. Since the said application has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that this Court may issue a direction to the respondent to sanction the E.P.F. amount as sought for by the petitioner in his application dated 08.11.2022, within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.
5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel appearing for the respondent.
6. Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 24.11.2022 and to sanction the eligible amount to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
