O R D E R

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to issue passport in file number MD2061994160919, dated 26.03.2019 within the stipulated time.

2. Mr.V.Kathirvelu, learned Assistant Solicitor General of India, upon instructions states that, after the application was received on 26.03.2019, notices were sent to the petitioner on two occasions namely 11.04.2019 and 27.11.2019 informing him to appear before the Authorities, as there was a criminal case pending against him.

3. According to the petitioner, the said criminal case was quashed as early as on 04.07.2018 only after which, the application was filed seeking for the issuance of passport.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Assistant Solicitor General of India appearing for the respondents.

5. There is no reason given by the petitioner for not appearing before the Authorities for the above mentioned notices. Therefore, the petitioner is directed to appear before the Authorities on any date within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order in this regard and give his explanation before the Authorities based on which, the respondents are to consider the application and pass appropriate orders with regard to the issuance of passport.

6. With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
