ORDER

Seeking to withdraw and transfer the investigation in First Information Report in Crime No.26 of 2019 dated 20.02.2019 on the file of the third respondent Police to CBCID Police, this criminal original petition is filed.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that on the complaint given by the petitioner regarding to her son's disappearance, a first information report in Crime No.26 of 2019 came to be registered by the third respondent police. However, so far, no steps have been taken. Hence, this petition.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's son, who was a person suffering from mental illness, went missing. In this regard, a complaint was lodged by the petitioner, and the investigation is in progress.

4.Heard the learned counsel on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

5.Considering the submissions made, this Court hereby directs the third respondent to conclude the investigation in Crime No.26 of 2019 within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. However, the second respondent police is directed to monitor the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted by the third respondent, from time to time. The third respondent is directed to appraise the progress of the investigation every Friday, till the conclusion of the investigation, to the second respondent.

6.With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
