Respondents PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, praying to direct the respondent police No.3 to 5 to give protection for conducting the St.Peter and Pauls feast festival from 20.06.2015 to 29.06.2015 by the petitioner's church, Sernthamaram, Tirunelveli District.

O R D E R

Seeking a direction to the respondents 3 to 5, to give protection to the festival, the petitioner has come up with this petition.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents and the learned counsel appearing for the other group and perused the records carefully.

3. Perusal of the records shows that there is some dispute between two groups. It is submitted by the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) that there was about seven criminal cases are pending with regard to the festival.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) further submitted that conducting of festival is already been ordered. A submission has been made by the learned counsel Mr.A.Prabhu, who seeks intervene on behalf of the other group, that peace committee meeting may be conducted for settling the dispute.

5. Accordingly, this court directs the Tahsildar, Kadayanallur to conduct a peace committee meeting on 26.06.2015 and conclude it on the same day i.e., on 26.06.2015. Based upon the minutes of the meeting, the respondents will have to take appropriate action.

6. This criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
