ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed to direct the respondent to grant permission for conducting the democratic protest and agitation on 11.01.2024 near Palpannai, Boothipuram based on the petitioner's representation dated 03.01.2021. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had sought permission to conduct peaceful protest on 11.01.2024 regarding conversion of agricultural lands into housing plots. The respondent had not granted permission. Therefore, he had filed this petition seeking direction against the respondent to grant him permission to hold peaceful protest at Dairy-farm, Boothipuram.
3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the place, where the petitioner intends to hold the protest, is Dairy, which is the congested place. Therefore, the respondent had suggested two places, ie., RMDC Depot Junction P.C.Patti and Palaiyathupatti Junction, Boothipuram, which is 50 mtr., away from the Dairy. Considering the representation of the petitioner, the respondent had considered the hardship caused to the general public and had suggested 2/4
alternative site. Since the petitioner wanted to conduct the protest near Dairy, which is the congested area, the respondent had refused. 4.In the light of the above submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner to file fresh representation before the respondent, so that the respondent may consider it in favour of the petitioner.
