O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondent to register Gift Deed which was presented by the petitioners for registration on 02.01.2025 in receipt No.TP/205969381/2025. 1/4

2. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

4. Both the petitioners had purchased the properties under various sale deeds, thereafter, they decided to gift some extent of the property in favour of the local body. Accordingly, they had executed the gift deed in favour of the Village Panchayat President and presented for registration. Though it was received by the respondent, it is kept pending without any registration. The respondent cannot simply keep the document without even assigning any pending document number.

5. In view of the above, the respondent is directed to either register the gift deed presented for registration or issue refusal check slip within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4
