ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the respondents 1 and 2 herein, to cancel the document registered in their office vide document No. 2351/1999 dated 30.06.1999, which was executed by the petitioner in favour of the third respondent.

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court.

3. The petitioner had executed a lease agreement in favour of the third respondent and got registered vide document No.2351/1999, dated 30.06.1999, now, the petitioner wants to cancel the lease deed. The registering authority, viz., respondents 1 and 2, have no authority or power to cancel any document that too unilaterally. The petitioner ought 2/4

to have approached the civil Court for appropriate relief as against the third respondent.

4. Therefore, the direction sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted and this petition is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs.
