ORDER

The petitioner is the accused in Special Case No.11 of 2014 on the file of the Special Judge under the Prevention of Corruption Act cum Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Theni. He has come up with this petition seeking a direction to the lower Court to expedite the trial.

2. I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondent and I have also perused the records carefully.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner, by referring to the grounds stated in the petition, would submit that the petitioner is a Tahsildar and now under suspension and is aged 48 years. Because of the pendency of the case, he is put to lot of hardship. He would further submit that no progress has been made in the trial of the case.

4. Having regard to all the above facts, I am inclined to issue a direction to the lower Court to expedite the trial and dispose of the same as early as possible.
