Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to cancel the patta by the consideration of the petitioner's representation, dated 29.05.2024.

ORDER
This Writ Petition is filed for a mandamus, directing the second respondent to cancel the patta, by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 29.05.2024.
2. The petitioner submitted a representation to the respondents 1 and 2 on 29.05.2024, for cancellation of patta issued in favour of the third respondent. After receiving the representation, the second respondent called the petitioner for enquiry on 04.09.2024 and 04.10.2024. In response to the summons, the petitioner appeared before the second respondent along with relevant documents. The statements of the petitioner and the counter party were recorded by the second respondent. Thereafter, since no action was taken, the petitioner filed the above Writ Petition for the aforesaid relief.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that enquiry has been completed and a report has also been sent to the Sub-Collector, Kumbakonam, and the same is pending with him. He, therefore, submits that reasonable time may be granted for passing final orders on the petitioner's representation.
4. In view of the submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader, six weeks' time from the date of receipt of this order is granted to the
Sub-Collector, Kumbakonam, before whom the matter is pending, to pass final orders on the petitioner's representation.
5. Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. 10.01.2025 NCC :
