Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking a Writ of Certiorari to quash the order dated 18.12.2019 passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal, Madras Bench as far as rejecting the interim relief sought for in O.A.No.1497 of 2019 after calling for the records concerned from the Tribunal.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by THE HON'BLE CHIEF JUSTICE] The petition is directed against the refusal to pass an interim order on a petition carried to the Central Administrative Tribunal.

2. In view of the long passage of time, the petition before the Tribunal may have ripened for hearing.

3. No useful purpose would be served in taking up the present writ petition in view of the long delay in the matter being taken up.

4. W.P.(MD).No.679 of 2020 is disposed of by requesting the Central Administrative Tribunal, Chennai to dispose of Original Application Nos.310/01497/2019 and 310/01526/2019 as expeditiously as the business of the Tribunal would permit and, preferably, within three months of the receipt of the copy of this order. Consequently, W.M.P(MD).Nos.500 and 501 of 2020 are closed.

5. It is made clear that the merits of the rival claims have not been gone into.

6. There will be no order as to costs.
