ORDER
The petitioner is working as Associate Professor in the third respondent college. He is also functioning as Head of the Department of Economics. He was placed under suspension on 14.10.2025 pursuant to a disciplinary proceedings initiated as against him, on 21.08.2025. The cause of action for the disciplinary proceedings is that the petitioner entered into the Secretary's room without permission and also shouted at him. The suspension order dated 14.10.2025 has been subsequently extended on 13.12.2025 and it has been revoked on 2/6
05.01.2026 with a condition that the petitioner shall function as Assistant Professor and he is not supposed to take the position of the Head of the Department of Economics. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition. 2.This Court while entertaining this writ petition, has granted an interim order of stay that the petitioner, who is functioning as Head of the Department, is restricted from functioning as Head of the Department, without providing an opportunity to him. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the third respondent submits that the disciplinary proceedings initiated as against the petitioner has been conducted and he has been imposed with punishment of stoppage of increment for a period of two years with cumulative effect, by an order dated 02.02.2026. 4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that since the petitioner has filed the present writ petition, he has been imposed with the above said punishment.

5.This Court has considered the submissions made on either side and perused the available materials in the record. 6.The order impugned in this writ petition is revoking of suspension order with certain conditions. This Court has granted the interim order considering the manner in which the petitioner has been restricted from functioning as Head of the Department. Since the third respondent has now conducted the disciplinary proceedings and has also imposed punishment by its order dated 02.02.2026, this writ petition is closed with liberty to challenge the order dated 02.02.2026. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
