Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to forthwith issue appropriate instruction or direction to the 5th and 6th respondents to permit the petitioner's son namely, Dominic Sanjay and daughter, namely, Jenila to participate in the Confirmation Preparation Classes and to receive the sacrament of Confirmation scheduled on 11.01.2026, without any obstruction, discrimination or arbitrary denial based on the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2025. This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the first respondent to forthwith issue appropriate instruction or direction to the 5th and 6th respondents to permit the petitioner's son namely, Dominic Sanjay and daughter, namely, Jenila to participate in the Confirmation preparation classes and to receive the sacrament of Confirmation scheduled on 11.01.2026, without any obstruction, discrimination or arbitrary denial based on the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2025
2. It is the case of the petitioner that the sixth respondent abruptly denied permission to the petitioner's children to attend the Confirmation 2/5
preparation classes and to receive the sacrament of Confirmation scheduled on 11.01.2026.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the first respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioner dated 05.01.2025 would be considered in accordance with law.
4. In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the fourth respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 05.01.2025 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible. In the event of delay in consideration, the third respondent is directed to allow the children to participate in the Confirmation Preparation Classes and to receive the sacrament of Confirmation scheduled on 11.01.2026.
5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
