Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to rectify the mistake occurred in Computer "A" Register in respect of the land in Survey No.323 with an extent of 4.04.5 hectares in Thirukkalambur Village, Ponnamaravathy Taluk, Pudukkottai District belonging to Uppilikaruppar Thirukkovil and restore the same in the name of Uppilikaruppar Thirukkovil (Uppiliyan Kompalayam) on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 15.12.2022.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The prayer sought for in the writ petition cannot be granted. The copy of the 'A' register has been enclosed. It clearly states that in the petition mentioned survey number, a temple is shown to exist. This shall be maintained. In other words, the character of the land as belonging to the temple will have to be maintained. The petitioner cannot claim any private or personal right over the said property in question.

3. Directing the respondents to maintain the revenue record in consonance with the 'A' register set out in Page No.15 of the typed set of papers, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
