O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed by a Driver working in the Rural Development Department, seeking a Mandamus as against the respondent for disposal of his appeal presented to the respondent on 26.11.2024.

2. It could be seen from the records, the District Collector, Ramanathapuram, has passed an order on 31.12.2013 imposing a punishment of postponement of increment for a period of one year with cumulative effect. The petitioner has chosen to challenge the said order by way of an appeal to the respondent herein on 26.11.2024.

3. According to the petitioner, even though the said appeal has been received by the respondent, so far, there is no progress. Hence, the writ petition.

4. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent. 2/4

5. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the appeal presented by the petitioner and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
