Respondents PRAYER:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to grant permission and police protection for conducting Kabadi Tournament as scheduled to hold on 23.01.2021 at about 06.00 p.m., to 10.00 p.m., and 24.01.2021 at about 06.00 p.m., to 10.00 p.m., at Anna Nagar Colony, Mela Street, Thottiyam, Trichy District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2020. ORDER
By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
2.The main contention of the petitioner is that they have conducted many kabadi tournaments and that no untoward incident took place so far. He therefore, sought for a direction to the respondents to grant permission to him to conduct Kabadi Tournament. 3.Mr.R.Saravana Kumar, learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side), who takes notice for the respondents, would submit that the representation dated 23.12.2020 submitted by the petitioner is posted for enquiry.

4. As per G.O.(MS)No.654, Revenue and Disaster Management (DM-IV) Department, dated 21.11.2020, the District Collector is the competent authority for giving permission. Admittedly, so far the petitioner has not given any representation to the concerned District Collector for getting permission to conduct Kabadi Tournament. Therefore, the petitioner, if so advised, may submit his representation to the concerned District Collector and on such receipt of the said representation, the concerned District Collector is requested to pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5.With the above observation, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
