ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking direction to the respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner's property in survey No.896/16, in Survey No. 896/16 and in Survey No. 896/17 situated at Kuruvikulam Village, Sankarankovil Taluk, Thenkasi District, based upon the petitioner's representation dated 20.11.2025.

2. The contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner is the owner of the land.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the assignment patta was issued to the petitioner with specific terms and conditions; however, the petitioner failed to fulfill some conditions. As a result, the assignment 2/4

patta was cancelled. This fact was recorded in W.P(MD) No. 24137 of 2023 dated 26.03.2024.

4. In the above said order, it is stated that if the cancellation order is not available, a survey can be conducted. However, this alone will not grant any right to the petitioner, as the petitioner must ascertain and prove that the property belongs to him as on date. The revenue records still show the property in the name of the Government. Therefore, this writ petition cannot be entertained. Hence, this writ petition is dismissed and the petitioner is at liberty to approach competent civil Court. 08.01.2026 TTA TO
