ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 23.12.2025, rectify the errors in the TSLR concerning the property comprised in Survey No. 762A/1A2, measuring 3360 sq.ft., situated in Block No.13, Municipal 6th Ward, Kumbakonam Town, Thanjavur District, and restore the petitioner's name after conducting an enquiry, within the period stipulated by this Court.

2. By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the absolute owner of the property in question and that the Petitioner submitted a representation dated 23.12.2025 to the first respondent, requesting rectification of errors in the TSLR concerning the property comprised in Survey No.762A/1A2, measuring 3360 sq.ft., situated in Block No.13, Municipal 6th Ward, Kumbakonam Town, Thanjavur District, and the restoration of his name therein. Despite the submission, the first respondent has neither considered the representation nor conducted any enquiry. Hence, the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submits that the petitioner's representation will be considered and appropriate orders will be passed in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

Recording the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 23.12.2025, on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after giving due opportunity to the petitioner and all other persons, who may be interested in the subject matter, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matter and that it is open to the first respondent to consider the same on its own merits. Needless to state that in the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to work out their remedies before the Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
