Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to grant appropriate permission and adequate police protection to conduct the Kabadi Tournament from 14.01.2022 to 15.01.2022 in the ground situating Mangulam Village Manthai Thidal in Mangulam Village, Madurai East Taluk, Madurai District based on the petitioner's representations dated 07.01.2022 within the stipulated time.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner states that they will hold the event on 05.02.2022 and 06.02.2022. Therefore, the petitioner is directed to request the second respondent and the second is directed to grant permission as sought for. The second respondent of course can stipulate appropriate conditions for holding the event. I am passing this order since the petitioner states that there is no communal angle. counsel gives an undertaking that the organizers of the event will adhere to the police directives. The second respondent while issuing the proceedings permitting the holding of the event shall stipulate appropriate conditions for adhering to Covid-19 protocol. Since the petition mentioned event is a Kabadi Tournament, the question of restricting the petitioner not to conduct the program at night hours will not arise.

3.This Writ Petition is allowed. No costs.
