The Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1973, seeking a direction to the first and second respondents to give necessary police protection to the petitioners for their life and limbs, by considering the petitioners' representation dated 17.12.2024, within a period stipulated by this Court.
2. In this case, the first petitioner is the wife, the second petitioner is the son, and the third petitioner is the daughter-in-law of the fifth respondent. The seventh respondent is the daughter, and the sixth respondent is the son-in-law of the fifth respondent. There is a dispute regarding the sharing of the family property. The fifth to seventh respondents are engaging musclemen to evict the petitioners. The Page No. 2 of 5
petitioners are willing to abide by the Civil Court's decision, but they cannot be forcibly evicted from their residence. Hence, the petitioners sought protection and sent a representation on 17.12.2024 to the first to fourth respondents, but no action has been taken.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), appearing for the first to fourth respondents, submitted that the representation of the petitioners has been forwarded to the third and fourth respondents. As far as the third respondent is concerned, the complaint was closed with the finding that it is a family dispute. The fourth respondent has kept the complaint pending.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the limited prayer now is that the third respondent police call the fifth to seventh respondents and advise them not to cause disturbances or attempt to forcibly evict the petitioners from the property until the outcome of the civil suit.
5. The petitioners shall appear before the third respondent police on 29.01.2025. The third respondent police shall ensure the presence of the Page No. 3 of 5
fifth to seventh respondents on that date and advise both parties accordingly.
