The instant writ petition has been filed by a Head Constable, seeking a Mandamus as against the respondent herein to consider his representation dated 10.12.2024.

2. A perusal of the records reveal that the petitioner was initially appointed as a Police Constable Grade-II in the year 1999 and he was promoted as a Police Constable Grade-I in the year 2009. The petitioner was promoted as a Head Constable in the year 2014. Though the petitioner is eligible to be upgraded as a Special Sub-Inspector of Police, the said benefit has not been conferred upon him citing pendency of certain criminal cases. The petitioner has given a representation on 10.12.2024, seeking conferment of up-gradation of Special Sub Inspector of Police to the respondent herein. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent herein is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.12.2024 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
