This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to conduct enquiry and furnish the said enquiry report before the first respondent as per the proceedings of the 1st respondent in his proceedings in Oo.Mu. (A7)/1769/2025 dated 29.04.2025 for cancellation of patta in the Survey No.151/3 (measuring about 2.57 acres) situated at Nadupatti Village, Manaparai Taluk, Trichy District within a time frame.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of respondents submitted that now the matter is pending before the first respondent. He further submitted that the inquiry would be conducted and concluded within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent/Revenue Divisional Officer to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The first respondent is further directed to afford a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner and to all other persons who may be affected by such decision during the course of the inquiry. In the event of any rival claims, the same can be agitated before the competent civil court. There shall be no order as to costs.
