appropriate action as against the supply of illegal gravel sand in and around the Thoothukudi District creating huge revenue loss to the Government.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) This writ petition has been filed challenging the proceedings initiated by the District Collector, Tuticorin as against the illegal supply of gravel sands in Udangudi Thermal Power Station, Thoothukudi District.
2.The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner has made several representations to the official respondents alleging illegal supply of gravel sand. The third respondent vide communication dated 24.04.2023 directed the District Revenue Officer to conduct enquiry in this regard and file a report by considering the representation of the petitioner. The said proceedings is pending. In the meanwhile, the Assistant Director, Minerals and Mining Department has passed the 3/7
impugned order without considering the allegations made by the petitioner by way of representations. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.
3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representations have been duly considered and necessary action has already been initiated against the offenders involved in the illegal activity. 4.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed on record.
5.A perusal of the impugned order reveals that action has already been initiated and penalty has been imposed against the offenders involved in the illegal supply of gravel sand. It is also brought to the notice of this Court that an appeal has been preferred as against the said proceedings by the aggrieved parties, which is presently pending before the District Collector.

6.In view of the above, the District collector is directed to dispose of the appeal within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Depending upon the outcome of the said appeal, the authorities shall proceed further in accordance with law without any further delay.
7.With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
