PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents settle petitioner surrender leave salary for 135 days in respect of the years 2011-2024 together with interest at the rate of 18 percentage per annum payable from the date for retirement to till the date of actual payment.

O R D E R

The petitioner has served in the respondent transport corporation as a Driving Instructor and he retired from service on 30.04.2024. The petitioner with a grievance that his surrender leave salary for 135 days for the period from 2011 to 2024 has not been settled to him, has submitted a representation to the respondent and filed this writ petition for a direction to the respondent to settle the unpaid surrender leave salary for 135 days together with interest.

2. Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents and submits that they would consider the case of the petitioner and settle the eligible leave salary if any. 3.Since the petitioner claims that he has not been paid with the surrender leave salary for 135 days even after his 2/5

retirement, the respondents shall consider the case of the petitioner and pay the eligible amount, if already not paid, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order together with interest at 6% per annum.

4.This writ petition is allowed with the above direction. No costs.
