PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle petitioner's surrender leave salary for 101 days in respect of the years 2011-2023 together with interest at the rate of 18 percentage per annum payable from the date for retirement 1/5

to till the date of actual payment.

O R D E R

The petitioner has served in the respondent transport corporation as a Selection Grade Conductor and he retired from service on 31.08.2023. The petitioner with a grievance that his surrender leave salary for 101 days for the period from 2011 to 2023 has not been settled to him, has submitted a representation to the respondent and filed this writ petition for a direction to the respondent to settle the unpaid surrender leave salary for 101 days together with interest.

2. Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents and submits that they would consider the case of the petitioner and settle the eligible leave salary if any. 2/5

3.Since the petitioner claims that he has not been paid with the surrender leave salary for 101 days even after his retirement, the respondents shall consider the case of the petitioner and pay the eligible amount, if already not paid, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order together with interest at 6% per annum.

4.This writ petition is allowed with the above direction. No costs.
