This Writ Petition is filed praying for a Mandamus forbearing the 1st Respondent from granting any permission to the 4th Respondent and the village people of Mudikandam Village to conduct the "Puravi Eduppu" festival in Arulmighu Vanniaperumal and Pathrakaliamman Temple Pasankarai Village, Sivagangai District.

2. The Writ Petition was filed in the year 2013 with reference to conduct of "Puravi Eduppu" festival in Arulmighu Vanniaperumal and Pathrakaliamman Temple Pasankarai Village, Sivagangai District.

3. It is submitted by the learned Government Advocate appearing for the Respondents 1 to 3 that the said festival was already conducted and over in the year 2013, but the same is disputed by the learned counsel for the petitioner. In any view, it appears that the present Writ Petition was with regard to "Puravi Eduppu" festival proposed to be conducted in the year 2013, and nine years have gone by, thus, there is no reason to keep the present Writ Petition pending. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner, laws permitting to raise objection, if any, with regard to future conduct of festival before the appropriate authority. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. 09.09.2022 Index : Yes / No Speaking Order : Yes / No vji
