Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners representation dated 29.10.2024 and further direct the 1st respondent to alter the route of power line which to be laid from Udangudi Sub Station to proposed Padukkapathu Sub Station along the Udangudi-Tisayanvillai Main Road, by avoiding the interfering farms, gardens, temples and 100 years old trees from various villages.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) With reference to the relief sought for in the writ proceedings, the learned Standing Counsel for the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board would submit that there is no proposal to uproot any tree or cut the tree in entirety. The branches 2/5
required alone will be cut for the purpose of installation of electric cables and therefore, the apprehension raised by the petitioner is presumptive. The petitioner says that the proposed laying of electricity cable may cause damage to the trees. Since the learned Standing Counsel has made the submission that his apprehension is not based on any materials available on record nor the Board has got any such proposal to cut trees in entirety, no further adjudication need to be entertained. Consequently, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
