The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner submitted that the writ petition is filed to quash the impugned order dated 05.03.2012 passed by the first respondent and to direct the first respondent to promote him to the post of Special Sub Inspector of Police. However, during the pendency of the present writ petition, the writ petitioner attained the age of superannuation in the year 2013 and retired from service.

W.P.(MD) No.5858 of 2012 from service, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner is not interested in pursuing his case.

3. In view of the above submissions, the writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
