ORDER

Seeking to transfer the investigation in Cr.No.183 of 2025 on the file of 3rd respondent to any other competent officer under the supervision of the first respondent and to complete the investigation, this criminal original petition is filed.

2. The petitioner, a 58-year-old daily wage worker, states that her son Kumaravel (26), who was working in Chennai, met with a road accident involving an unknown vehicle on 13.09.2025 at about 11.45 p.m. on the Rameshwaram National Highway near Thoothaivillaku and was admitted in Madurai Rajaji Government Hospital in an unconscious state with injuries. An FIR in Crime No.183 of 2025 was registered on 14.09.2025 under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the BNS, 2023 by the 3rd respondent police. Since there is no progress in the investigation, this petition.

3. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) submitted that, upon enquiry, the offence was altered into Section 304-A of the IPC, as 2/5

the petitioner's son was hit by an unknown vehicle, and that the investigation is in progress.

4. Heard the learned counsels on either side and carefully perused the materials available on record.

Considering the plight of the petitioner, the 3rd respondent police is directed to complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order and the 2nd respondent is directed to monitor the progress of the investigation. Further, the 3rd respondent is also directed to apprise the progress of the investigation every Saturday to the 2nd respondent.

6. With the above directions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
