PRAYER:- Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents to grant patta to the petitioner's land to an extent of 495 Sq.Ft in Town Survey No.592, T.S.Ward No.11, Block No.7 in Door No.97/7A, Thaikka Street, Kailasapuram, Tirunelveli by considering the petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2021, with in the period that may be stipulated by this Court. ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to grant patta in favour of the petitioner with respect to the subject property by considering the representation made by the petitioner on 08.01.2021.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Special Government Pleader produced a report dated 10.10.2023 of the Zonal Town Surveyor, Tirunelveli Corporation. On going through the same, it is seen that the subject property has been categorized as 'Natham' and that all the shops that were situated in the subject property were already removed. It is further stated that there is no scope for issuance of patta.

3. In the light of the above report and in the light of the fact that the shops belonging to the petitioner have also been removed, there is no scope to consider grant of any patta in favour of the petitioner as per the representation made by the petitioner on 08.01.2021.
