P RAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to restrain any individual or group of persons belonging to a particular community or caste from conducting any events in the land in S.F.No. 182/6 Pallipatti Village, Madurai District and maintain law and order on basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2025 within a period stipulated time by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the respondents to restrain any individual or group of persons belonging to a particular community or caste from conducting any events in the land in S.F.No. 182/6 Pallipatti Village, Madurai District, and to maintain law and order on basis of the petitioner's representation dated 05.01.2025

2. By consent of both parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 2/4

3. In pursuant to the request made by the petitioner, the second respondent conducted a peace committee meeting and resolved that nobody is permitted to encroach the property comprised in Survey No. 182/56 and 182/46, situated at Adidravidhar natham, Pallapatti village, Kottampatti, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, since there is a dispute between two groups. The said land is a common place and used to as playground and community hall. Therefore, other than the purpose for subject land is ear-marked, it cannot be used for any other purpose. If there is any law and order issue, the concerned Revenue officials as well as the Police officials are directed to take appropriate action as against them.

4. With the above observation, this Writ Petition stand disposed of . No costs.
