Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to consider the requisition of the petitioner dated 24.12.2021 and pass an appropriate order on the said requisition to extend the lease of the petitioner for the period of two years from 01.01.2022 to 31.12.2023.

ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24.12.2021 seeking for extension of lease for stone quarry on the ground that due to COVID-19 Government lockdown, the stone quarry license granted to him could not be operated for quite some time.
2. The petitioner seeks for extension of his license on account of the non-operation of the stone quarry during the license 1/3
period due to COVID-19 Government lockdown. In such circumstances, the petitioner has given a representation on 24.12.2021 to the official respondents seeking for extension of the license. Since the said representation has not been considered till date, he has filed this Writ Petition.
3. Heard Mr.T.Selvan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. No prejudice would be caused to the respondents, if the petitioner's representation seeking for extension of license is considered on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner including granting him the right of personal hearing.
5. For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.12.2021 seeking for extension of the license of the petitioner for a further period of two years and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner including granting him the right of personal hearing, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the aforesaid direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
