PRAYER: This Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of Criminal Procedure Code, to issue direction to the 1st respondent to issue direction to the 2nd respondent to provide police protection to the construction of Channel bridge at Elumalai Village over the water way (Odai) to the Thanakkankulam Kanmai, which was duly approved by the government by its order dated 26.06.2013 and to the petitioner's life as against the enemies, namely Pandian and his wife Jeyapandi, and relatives Annakili, Selvi taking into account of the petitioner's representation dated 04.01.2014 and subsequent representation dated 13.01.2015.

2.The petitioner seeks police protection to his life and limb through the representations dated 04.01.2014 and 13.01.2015 respectively. Now, 3 years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be granted now.

3.In view of the same, this criminal original petition is dismissed. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
