ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to quash the FIR.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) brought to my notice that on 07.12.2021, the learned Magistrate himself had discharged the accused on the ground that no cogent reason was given for the delay in laying the final report after the expiry of the limitation. It was also noted that the prosecution failed to seek extension of time. It has been specifically observed that discharge of the accused will have the effect of acquittal.

3. Recording the subsequent development, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
