This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent Nos.1 and 2 to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 29.12.2023, made in person seeking protection under the Senior Citizens Welfare and Protection Act viz., the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 r/w. Tamil Nadu Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Rules, 2009 from the harassment made by the 3rd respondent and his subordinate.
2. By consent of both the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5
3. The petitioner is the senior citizen, aged about 71 years and suffering from various health issues and he is not able to appear before the third respondent. Hence, he has made a representation to the respondents 1 and 2, requesting to protect him from the harassment of the third respondent and his subordinate officer viz., Karthikeyan. But the said representation has not been considered so far by the respondents 1 and 2. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. Mr.K.Christy Theboral, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the first respondent and Mrs.M.Aasha, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) takes notice for the respondents 2 and 3.
5. Considering the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 29.12.2023 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
