O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the second respondent to issue patta to the petitioner in respect of the land situated in Survey Nos.119/12C3 and 119/12C1, Kodimangalam Village, Madurai West Taluk, Madurai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2025 within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

2. With the consent of the parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the subject property has been in the possession of the petitioner's family, namely, the ancestors of the petitioner's husband, for the last 300 years; that in the years 1997 and 1999, the Revenue Inspector issued revenue reports (B-Yathasthu) in the name of the petitioner, officially endorsing her possession of the said land; that the petitioner submitted applications seeking issuance of patta; that although the petitioner submitted the required documents, such as the registered Partition Deed Page No. 2 of 5

dated 09.09.1961, B-Yathasthu and property tax receipts, the respondents have not taken any action to issue patta in the name of the petitioner and her husband; that the petitioner also submitted a representation dated 19.12.2025 to the respondent seeking issuance of patta, which did not evoke any response; and that therefore, the petitioner was constrained to file the present Writ Petition.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2025 would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed within a period of twelve weeks.

Recording the above submission and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2025 and pass appropriate orders on its merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The representation shall be disposed of after conducting an enquiry. The respondents are also directed to provide a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other Page No. 3 of 5

interested parties who may be affected by such decision before passing any order. In the event of any rival claims, the parties are at liberty to pursue their remedies before the competent Civil Court. There shall be no order as to costs.
