ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the 1st respondent to give adequate police protection to the life and limbs of the petitioner and his family members, based on the complaint given by the petitioner dated 27.12.2025.

2. Learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) submitted that with respect to a land dispute between the petitioner and the respondents 3 to 2/6

15, already a First Information report has been registered by the second respondent in crime No.82 of 2025. On 3/12/2025, the petitioner had migrated to a village namely Veerapandi and had settled there. However, claiming that the petitioner had settled in the land belonging to Irulappasamy temple, the respondents 3 to 15 have caused death fear to the petitioner. In this regard, a complaint was made and the inaction of the second respondent, resulted in filing this petition seeking police protection, the present petition came to be filed.

3. Learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) on instructions submitted that the claim of the private respondents is that the petitioner had settled in the land belonging to the temple. However, the petitioner claims that it is his own land. In respect to the civil dispute, already a First Information Report has been registered and this Court had also directed the Tahsildar to ascertain as to the title and ownership of the said land with respect to the parties.

4. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record. 3/6

5. Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for in this petition, notice to the private respondents are dispensed with.

6. The Tahsildar, Madurai North Taluk, Madurai, is suo motu impleaded as 16th respondent. The registry is directed to carry out the necessary amendment in the cause title.

7. The 16th respondent is directed to conclude the enquiry and submit his report before the second respondent police within a period of one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On receipt of the same, the second respondent police is directed to take appropriate action considering the petitioner's representation on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.

8. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
