Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Chennai to dispose off the disciplinary actions initiated against the petitioner in (a). Memo No.7456/2013-2 dated 30.06.2014 by the District Collector, Tiruchirappalli (b). Memo No.29002/2016 DPC 3.2 dated 24.05.2016 by the Director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Chennai by passing appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. 2.Pursuant to the Disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner on 30.06.2014, an enquiry was conducted and the Enquiry Officer has also filed his report on 12.11.2018. Pursuant 1/3

to the Enquiry Report, the respondents have sought for further explanation from the petitioner on 05.04.2019, pursuant to which, the petitioner had also given his further explanation on 07.11.2020. 3.The grievance of the petitioner is that the Disciplinary proceedings have been pending from the year 2014 till date and thereby, he has been deprived of the monetary benefits. This Court is of the view that if the third respondent is directed to take further course of action based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.11.2020, within a stipulated time, the ends of justice could be secured.

4.In the light of the above observation, there shall be a direction to the (*)first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.11.2020 and take further course of action by passing effective and reasoned order as expeditiously as possible, in any event, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
