ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed challenging a consequential order issued by the second respondent herein demanding the amount finalised in the final assessment order arising out of Section 135 proceedings under the Electricity Act.
2. The amount demanded in the final assessment order is Rs.16,020/- (Rupees Sixteen Thousand and Twenty only). Since the said amount was not paid, a consequential order was passed by the second respondent herein that they are intending to disconnect the electricity service connection. This consequential order is under challenge in the present writ petition.
3. At the time of admission, the petitioner was directed to deposit a sum of Rs.8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand only) and he has also 2/5
complied with the said order. The learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submits that the petitioner is ready to deposit the balance Rs.8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand only) within a period of four (4) weeks. In view of the stand taken by the petitioner, for complying with the final assessment order, no further orders are required in the present writ petition. The petitioner is directed to deposit the balance Rs.8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand only) on or before 17.10.2022. The respondents are directed not to disconnect the electricity service connection till 17.10.2022. If not deposited in time, the respondents can proceed to disconnect the supply.
4. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 16.09.2022 Index :
