ORDER

The petitioner has filed this writ petition for the issue of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to make the payment that is due to the petitioner's company for execution of project work for the construction of Checkdam @ Manorathinam Solai, Kodaikanal Municipality, Contract Work order dated 16.09.2015, to the tune of Rs.5,36,317/- with 9% interest w.e.f. 2016 and refund the petitioner's Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs.10,000/-.

2. By order dated 21.03.2023, this Court had directed the respondent to take steps to make the payment to the petitioner, pursuant to which a cheque bearing No."687415", dated 24.03.2023 for a sum of Rs.5,28,000/- has been handed over to the petitioner.

3. Today, it is informed by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the Earnest Money Deposit of Rs.10,000/- is yet to be paid.

4. Considering the fact that only a sum of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) is due to be paid to the petitioner, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondent to pay the said amount within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
