O R D E R

The present writ petition has been filed seeking mandamus directing to issue passport to the petitioner based upon his application dated 30.10.2025.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the second respondent brought to the notice of this Court that as on today, the petitioner has been implicated in two criminal cases in Cr.No. 103/2025 and Cr.No.362/2024 on the file of the second respondent.

3. According to the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), though the charge sheets were made ready on 26.06.2025 and 17.11.2024, respectively, so far, they have not filed the same before the Court.

4. This Court in judgment reported in 2014 (8) MLJ 61 has categorically held that mere pendency of criminal case is not a legal impediment for issuance of passport.

5. In view of the aforesaid facts, the first respondent is directed to consider the application of the writ petitioner for issuance of passport and pass orders within four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the said observations, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
